HeyREMVO Privacy Policy

HeyREMVO is a personal memory assistant designed to help you remember where you put things, who you lent things to, and other information that you choose to save.

Information you provide

HeyREMVO may process information that you voluntarily enter or provide to the app, including:

• Text memories and questions
• Voice input converted to text
• Photos you choose to attach to memories
• Item or object names
• Locations
• Names of people
• Context or notes associated with a memory
• Relevant previous conversation context when you ask a follow-up question

How your information is used

The information you provide is used to deliver the features of HeyREMVO. This includes understanding and organising memories, identifying information contained in a memory or photograph, retrieving relevant saved memories, and answering questions about information you have chosen to save.

HeyREMVO does not sell your personal information or use your saved memories for advertising.

Artificial Intelligence Processing

HeyREMVO uses artificial intelligence provided by OpenAI to help understand, organise and retrieve your memories and to answer questions.

When you use AI-powered features such as TELL ME or ASK ME, HeyREMVO may send information including:

• Text that you type
• Text created from voice input
• Relevant saved memory details, such as an object, location, person, context, visual description and original memory text
• Relevant recent conversation context where this is needed to understand a follow-up question
• A photo that you specifically choose to include when saving a memory

This information is sent through HeyREMVO's backend service and may then be transmitted to OpenAI for processing so that the requested AI feature can be provided.

Your permission for AI processing

HeyREMVO asks for your permission before information is sent for AI processing.

The app explains that information may be sent to OpenAI and asks you to choose whether to allow this processing.

If you choose Allow AI Analysis, you consent to the information described above being sent for processing by OpenAI.

If you choose Not Now, HeyREMVO will not send your information for AI processing and AI-powered features will remain unavailable unless you later choose to allow AI processing.

Photos

HeyREMVO only accesses photographs that you specifically choose to add to a memory. The app does not browse your photo library or select photographs without your permission.

If you choose to attach a photograph to a memory and have allowed AI processing, that photograph may be sent through HeyREMVO's backend service to OpenAI so that its contents can be analysed as part of the memory.

Voice and speech recognition

If you use HeyREMVO's voice features, speech recognition may be provided by Apple's speech recognition services. Apple may process audio or speech data in accordance with Apple's own privacy policies.

Text produced from your voice input may also be sent for AI processing when you use HeyREMVO's AI-powered features and have given permission for AI processing.

Data storage

Your saved memories are stored for the purpose of providing HeyREMVO's memory and recall features.

We do not sell your personal information, sell your memories, or use your memories for targeted advertising.

Third-party service providers

HeyREMVO uses third-party technology providers in order to operate certain features of the service.

• OpenAI — provides artificial intelligence processing used to understand memories and answer questions.
• Render — provides hosting infrastructure for HeyREMVO's backend service, through which AI requests are transmitted.

These providers process information in connection with providing their services to HeyREMVO and maintain their own privacy and security protections.

HeyREMVO only sends information to third-party services where it is required to provide the functionality requested by the user.

Tracking and advertising

HeyREMVO does not use your personal information for advertising and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes.

Your choices

You can delete individual memories or delete all saved memories from within the app.

You can also control access to features such as the microphone, speech recognition, camera and photos through your iPhone or iPad privacy settings.

You may choose not to allow AI processing. If you do not give permission, information will not be sent to OpenAI for AI analysis, although AI-powered features of HeyREMVO will not be available.

Remy Recall Alexa skill

Remy Recall is an Alexa skill that lets you save and ask about memories using Alexa. When you use the skill, Amazon Alexa handles the voice interaction and may process your voice and account information under Amazon's privacy terms. Remy Recall processes the text of requests, the memory information you provide and the account-linking identifiers required to associate the skill with your linked account.

Remy Recall may store information in its linked memory service so it can be retrieved in later skill interactions. You can disable or unlink the skill from your Alexa app. Please avoid submitting passwords, security codes or other highly sensitive information as memories.

Children

HeyREMVO is not specifically directed at children under the age of 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page together with an updated revision date.
